The 21st of September has been declared as the World Alzheimer’s Day, in order to raise awareness about the disease.

Alzheimer’s Disease is an irreversible, chronic neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system , characterized by progressive loss of memory and reduction of other cognitive functions of the brain.The disease affects almost 44 million people worldwide most of whom are above the age of 65.

People that suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia that is caused by it, require special care and support. Watching your relative get slowly consumed by the disease is, without a doubt, a stressful experience.
